Established in 1976, the Chaleur Firefighters Association was spearheaded by Fire Chief Evode Cormier of Petit-Rocher, NB. The Chaleur Firefighters Association encompassed fire departments from within the Chaleur region which extended from Allardville, NB in the south of the association as far as Robinsonville / Upsalquitch in the north.
In the early years of the Association, the membership worked hard at promoting Fire Prevention and during Fire Prevention Week in the month of October each year they organized dances, parades, inspections, and training seminars
