The City of Bathurst Fire Department consists of highly dedicated personnel, and the department strives to provide the greatest level of service in preventing fires, protecting property, and assisting the public on any matters that arise.

Formerly known as the “Keystone Fire Department”, Bathurst’s Fire Department has been in operation since 1891. Since the 1950’s, the Bathurst Fire Department has gone from being a complete volunteer service to having a complement of full time, part time and volunteer members.
