The Eel River Dundee Fire Department was founded in 1948 under the name “Eel River Crossing Volunteer Fire Department”. This Department has always been entirely made up of volunteer firefighters who devote much of their time in protecting and assisting members of the Village of Bois-Joli previously known as “Eel River Dundee.”
